Biography

Derek's keen interest in photography started at the age of 6 with his first photograph of the family's black and white cat.

This early interest was encouraged by an Aunt who was a photographer and photo retoucher in a London studio. In fact, one of her tasks was to photograph King George V and then go back to the Palace to colour tint the original black and white photograph – how far we have come in such a short time!

Using a traditional approach to photography coupled with the capabilities of the digital darkroom and modern printing techniques, Derek has combined his passion for photography with 21st century techniques to perfect the art of creating large scale high resolution panoramic images that feature in many of his prints.

What started out as a passionate interest has led to a thriving limited edition gallery.
