Looking up at the lavishly decorated carvings on the ceiling of the two stories of the library shows the intricate detail and the skill of the carvers.

The ancient white marble columns on either side of the main entrance are set off against the blue Mediterranean sky just as they were in 117 AD when the library was completed.
